Rules about substitutes

  • All the X-Factor substitutes will get 4 points for being announced and score points for any contributions they make as per our Fantasy Point System.
  • Concussion & COVID-19 Substitutes, if permitted as per the applicable rules and regulations of the tournament, will be awarded 4 points for making an appearance (only for T20s, ODs, Tests, T10s and The Hundred) and will be awarded points for all the contributions they make as per the Fantasy Point System.
  • Substitutes other than Concussion substitutes, COVID-19, or X-Factor substitutes will not be awarded points for any contribution they make.
  • If a player gets replaced by an X-Factor substitute in the Big Bash League but later comes back on the field, he will get points for his contributions. However, if a player, who was not a part of the announced lineups, comes to the field as a substitute, he will not get points for any of his contributions (except Concussion and COVID-19 substitutes).
  • A player who has been transferred from one team to the other might still be available for selection for his older team until the next scheduled team update on SPO11. However, no points will be attributed to the player in such a situation.
  • If a player is announced in the starting eleven of a team but later is unable to start the match, they will not score any points. However, the player who plays as the replacement will earn points for the match (including starting points).
  • No points will be awarded for any actions during a Super Over or a Super Five.
  • No further adjustments will be made to the points awarded once a match has been marked as completed and winners have been declared. Points awarded for a LIVE game will be subject to change only when the match status is “In Progress” or “In Review”.
  • More than 11 players from either team can play in Other OD/Other T20/Other Test matches.
  • There are no negative points for low Strike Rates in Test matches.
  • No points will be awarded for Strike, economy, or Maidens in 'The Hundred'.

All players earn 4 points each just for making it to the playing XI of their fantasy cricket teams. The cricketer you choose to be your TATA IPL Fantasy Cricket Team's Captain will receive 2x times the points, and the Vice-Captain will receive 1.5x times the points for his performance. Your Fantasy Cricket points keep changing as the actual match progresses. The points might also change while the match status is “In progress” or “Waiting for review”. Final Fantasy Cricket points can be viewed after the match is over, when the match status shows as 'Completed'.

The fantasy points system for cricket is reviewed on the basis of the game format i.e. it is different for ODI, Test, T20, T10 and other tournaments like the Hundred.

Players do not score fantasy points for their performance during a super over. Did you know? This is because these runs or wickets are not even considered in their official individual records.

Once you've joined the match, tap on the match card under My Matches on the home screen of teh desired sport. Once inside, you'll land on the My Contests tab where you can review your total team score for the individual contests you have joined for that match. It also tells you which team scored the highest in case of multiple teams.
